Abstract

The study paper has comprehensive discussion on the history of Linux and UNIX operating systems. It has significant findings of scholars and researchers that provide importance of these operating systems. In 1983 Richard Stallman launched the GNU Project, in order to create an operating system similar and compatible with UNIX and standards POSIX.
