Executive Summary

In this paper, we explore and expand the boundaries of knowledge of new ways of transforming health care services. The revolution in information technology is greatly transforming the way health care services are delivered today. Health care institutions are increasingly transferring their day to day to activities over the computer network such as patient records, hospital and clinic management and information system, computer and network based health care support tools and telepresence of the medical consultants for the purpose of facilitating patients who no physical access to the clinic.

Moreover, new technological innovations are continuously are being employed in the field of health care to explore new and more useful ways of delivering health care services to the patients. In terms of financial benefits, the introduction of information technology in medical and health care result in reduced costs, not only for the institutions but also for the patients.

Yet the potential of information technology is not fully realized in the health care industry and one usually finds it working in health care industry in isolated fashion. Despite the introduction and incorporation of modern technology in every major portion of health care practice, the potential of information technology especially the Internet is yet to be fully realized by the health care providers and institutions of clinical practice. And the ABC health care is no different.

This paper, therefore, attempts to propose the development of an enriched and dynamic website for ABC health care clinic in order to enhance the quality of health care facilities delivered by the clinic. Since the clinic has a simple webpage already published over the Internet which tell the general public nothing more the contact information as well as the list of health care services provided by the clinic, there is a need to rebuild the website on modern standards and equipping it with tools that would help the patients acquire information on almost every aspect of the clinic.

The proposed website project involves developing a dynamic website which would be connected to a database at the backend. The project will also help the ABC health care clinic to generate revenue in the form of advertising once the website start receiving considerable internet traffic. In the following section this proposal, the complete project plan and projected outcome of the future clinic website are discussed.

Purpose

The current website of the ABC health care clinic has is outdated not only in appearance but also in lacks the necessary information required by majority of the patients. Moreover, the current website also lacks the management efficiency, presentation of content and functionality that is normally required by a modern health care provider.
