In 1988, investigative journalist and Pulitzer Prize winner HG Bissinger decided to spend the year chronicling the season of high school football. School he chose was Permian High in Odessa, Texas. Odessa, the West Texas city of about 90,000 people, showed the lot of characteristics of boom and bust mentality of the place whose rationale depends on oil and Middle Eastern politics. During season, Bissinger, Odessa was in midst of an economic recession, the city at an alarming rate and rising crime such bleak prospects that Money magazine rated it fifth worst place to live in United States. Football, Permian football was what kept city together. And it did keep with crowd of 20. 000 who come to watch games on Friday nights and many more watching every practice and internalize all success and failure of equipment? (Bissinger 2000)

When novel "Friday Night Lights" is compared with film, there are some differences. Novel "Friday Night Lights" is the classic and is the new sport prominent of its time. Film "Friday Night Lights" is the memorable film for all sports fans, but novel portrays life and times of Odessa, Texas, football players better. Novel and film seems to appeal to anyone who always wanted to be the hero, but never manages to heroism. Novel and film both have great characterization, theme, description, setting, plot, and point of view, although there are some differences between two. Movie leaves out about seven chapters of novel, that if these chapters were included in film, which would have explained city and players in the much better.

Film and novel, either expressed or Odessa, Texas, is the blue-collar town where football team is life of city. Soccer players are expected to meet with parents and legacy of coaches. When city of Odessa, Texas, gets the new coach football players have to quickly adapt to style of coaches. Football team of Odessa is built around star running back Boobie Miles, one of two black players on team. One of differences between novel and film is football player's number on their shirts. In novel Boobie number was 35 miles, but film was 45. Brian Chavez numbers in novel was 85, but in movie I was 4 years. Ivory Christian, other black ...
