Summaries of the Article
In this paper, two articles have been reviewed and compared and then content is analyzed from the psychological perspective.
Summary of Article Number One
The first article that was selected for the review for this paper talks about two aspects of those families who have been faced wars or whose members have been taking part in different wars. The two aspects that this article discusses are violence in the families of military and broader impact that war caused on the children of the families the members of which have been in wars (Allison & Wool, 2011).
The article particularly talks about children and shows the result of the survey. According to a recent survey of parents, child psychosocial morbidity among children of deployed service members was two and a half times the national average: 32 percent of children were classified as at high risk, as compared to 18 percent in a peacetime survey of military families. A majority of parents reported that their children had trouble sleeping41 and many reported their children had problems at school, such as dropping grades, decreased interest and conflict with teachers. The problems these children experience at school are doubtless compounded by the frequent changes of school they experience as a result of their parent's service (Allison & Wool, 2011).
Summary of Article Number Two
If those who take part in wars or support wars want peace in world then they should defend the families from the clutches of violence. Because with broken homes, kids with weapons, young people left who do not know their parents, it is not possible to build structure of societies in a peaceful way. Defending the family should be a task for everyone. Therefore, it is urgent to create networks of solidarity at the national and international levels to help the families of victims of the war being waged in situation of war. It is assumed that the victims of war and their families should not interpret their losses for themselves, are supposed to leave that to the flags, ribbons, metals and salute. Supposedly, parents and spouses should accept their tremendous losses with stoic patriotism, and never ask if he could have avoided a death, never questioning how their loved ones are used to justify more killing (Thompson & Sacks, 2002).
