Introduction

Life is beautiful! Every individual on this earth has given one life to live. It should be lived with all the cheerfulness and happiness. Family is an organized social group, whose members are related community living, mutual moral responsibility and social need, which is due to society's need for physical and spiritual self-perpetuation. Family belongs to the most important social values. In order to pursue true happiness individuals unite together and form families. Unfortunately, there are few factors that disrupt the peace and happiness of the families. One such factor is of war. Today, this world is in the fire of war. This element of war has affected various families all over the globe. This paper talks about this same phenomenon of war and its effects on families.

There are many families today with family members who have experienced the horrors of war. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is now being recognized as a common condition suffered by defense personnel. But this has not always been the case and there are still men and women today who are suffering the repercussions of this unfortunate fact.

Article Summaries

In this paper, two articles have been reviewed and compared and then content is analyzed from the psychological perspective.

Summary of Article Number One

The first article that was selected for the review for this paper talks about two aspects of those families who have been faced wars or whose members have been taking part in different wars. The two aspects that this article discusses are violence in the families of military and broader impact that war caused on the children of the families the members of which have been in wars (Allison & Wool, 2011). The article particularly talks about children and shows the result of the survey. According to a recent survey of parents, child psychosocial morbidity among children of deployed service members was two and a half times the national average: 32 percent of children were classified as at high risk, as compared to 18 percent in a peacetime survey of military families.

War is the cause of the current social tragedy that affects the family, break the basic network of social ties and the displaced end up in the marginalization and exclusion from state benefits. Thus increasing poverty, unemployment, crime and precludes a sense of belonging. A majority of parents reported that their children had trouble sleeping41 and many reported their children had problems at school, such as dropping grades, decreased interest and conflict with teachers. The problems these children experience at school are doubtless compounded by the frequent changes of school they experience as a result of their parent's service (Allison & Wool, 2011). We must help the family because she is the social institution where the child learns the tenderness, love, living democracy, fraternity, respect for life and civic life.
