Introduction:
It is a fact that for a living, food, shelter and clothes are needed. To get all these needs, we must have money. This is a great truth that no one can deny. Money is an indispensable thing as oxygen for survival, which may buy something that everyone in this world. Therefore, the precious things in our lives and property(Stajkovic, 2001). Money makes the world go around, and nowhere is this more true than in the workplace. With money, everything you need, including luxury items can be purchased for life and enjoy life. This is the only reason why money attracts people, demonstrating his new character of being a great motivator in the workplace. Each work to earn and get money and wage increases may or may motivate employees to do the best.
Employers know that money is one of the best motivators. However, bonuses and cash awards are always the best way to reward employees? There are some circumstances under which the money is best recognized for additional work, there are other cases it is inappropriate.
The main reason why people should work for the money. People are motivated by money more than most, and cash a fair and effective way for management to show appreciation to hardworking employees. Employers know this, and many companies reward outstanding employees bonuses and cash rewards for good work(Stajkovic, 2001).
But at the same time, it is humiliating, banality and bad for morale. People are motivated by different things. Some employees have financial goals, and other professional goals, and other personal goals. Thus, money alone can not work to achieve it. Since each person is motivated by something else, money might not work for every employee. Some people have motivation from within, or internally. These people do not often need rewards or encouragement to keep them motivated to complete or finish the task. They have a mind set for success. Other externally motivated, or need outside forces to keep them interested in completing a chore or task. These are the people who need a lot of promotion, awards or praise, to stay motivated for the task(Neher, 2006).
Cash rewards are effective:
* Hunger is the greatest motivational force.Money is a tool for achieving many things in life. If you add up all their money is not considered significant.
* Money motivates people, and the extra money, forcing people to work overtime.
* Employees compete to raise productivity and standards.
* This is not always possible to help people, so money is a simple way to reward employees.
* Money is acceptable to all employees - some may not appreciate this particular, or some of the gifts can be offensive.
* Money often plays an important role in addressing someone to join or leave the company(Lane, 2001).
