Ethics is a disciplined and systematized reflection on our ethical practices. It is a means to test our moral values, judgments, responsibilities, aims, and actions. Ethical reflection offers a means to analyze arguments, examine different ways in which choices can be justified, while holding up to critical analysis 'what everyone knows'. It also suggests to those of us who work in practical arenas some core values to inform our work (McNamara, 2010).
Discussion
After reading the case study of Keller plastic manufacturing, we can witness various ethical dilemmas conducted in the business operations. Ethical dilemma examples, also known as moral dilemmas, are situations in which there are two choices to be made, neither of which resolves the situation in an ethically justifiable fashion (Peccei, 2007). In other words, the company is indirectly violating the country's law in conducting business (Blackburn, 2010).
Civil Rights and Employment Discrimination
Another ethical dilemma which can be analyzed in this case pertains to civil rights and employment discrimination. The hiring of Chinese citizens also related to the category of employment discrimination. Through this act, the company is creating biases on the bases of spending money. This should not be the case as it regarded unethical in the business world. If the hiring of Chinese citizens were on the basis of specialized skills they contain, then the employment discrimination would be negligible. This is because; the company is gaining competitive advantage ...
