Introduction

Ethics and nursing have been together and been in the process of delivering quality patient care and servicing for as long as each discipline has existed. For this paper, our main focus shall be upon the purpose and objective of understanding ethics in the light of nursing and how each tends to make necessary adjustments and making justified recommendations for analyzing the various patterns of ethical nursing to have existed over a period of time. Nursing and Ethics go hand-in-hand, when it comes to providing quality care to the patients at a hospital or at a community service centre. Delivering quality care to patients is one of the most important disciplines of ethics, which must be practiced with great zeal and attention. The requirement and usage of assessment instruments has become an integral part of clinical setting in today's era of enhanced accountability and high stakes decision making. With the development of new testing techniques and tools, the need for their availability and the presence of qualified professional will continue to grow with the passage of the time (Benbenishty, Ganz & Bulow, 2006 ).

As a technical term, 'psychological assessment' refers to methods developed to describe, record, and interpret a person's behavior, be it with respect to underlying basic dispositions (traits), to characteristics of state or change, or to such external criteria as expected success in a given training curriculum or in psychotherapeutic treatment. Methods of psychological assessment and testing constitute a major technology that grew out of psychological research, with widespread impact in educational, clinical, and industrial/organizational psychology, in counseling and, last but not least, in research itself.

Although the contribution has provided great yield towards understanding psychological pattern development, however there are certain tests and examinations that are being undertaken towards understanding innate details of the development of human beings. With reference to Immanuel Kant's concept of righteousness and dutiful dealings, it is thus the responsibility of researchers and scientists to create bounds and limitations during research. The reason is because humans tend to play with God's perfect proceeding in the midst of development and seeking knowledge, thus intervening in the work of the Al-Mighty.

It is important for the counselor to understand the ethical issues that are related to tests, which are also mentioned in APA (American Psychological Association) and AACD (American Association for Counseling and Development). The counselor should understand these issues in order to provide the relevant information to the client that is supposed to be provided by the practice of psychological tests. The American Psychological Association's (APA) Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct discusses those parameters and tools that need to be covered while aiming to conduct psychological assessment and examination within the frame of ethics (Buerhaus, Staiger & Auerbach, 2009).
