CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION
Background
The racial and ethnic discrimination happens every day at a time that impedes progress of millions of people around the world. Racism and intolerance are destroying lives and communities through its various manifestations, from depriving people of the fundamental principles of equality and non discrimination, to promote ethnic hatred that can lead to genocide. Fighting racism is a priority for the international community and is an essential part of the work of the High Commissioner for Human Rights.
The principal founding elements of racism that emerged during the colonial period, are aware of the cultural identity of each people, the introduction of hierarchy in these cultures and, consequently, the establishment of dominance relationships among these peoples. The claim of superiority of certain civilizations over others, are added in the nineteenth and twentieth century theories which treat this some natural hierarchy based on the concept of race. Today in the United States there are about 42 million African-Americans.
Problem Statement
The purpose of the study is for the reason to inquire the diverse difference noted in the employment issues concerning Black Americans. The problem of social instability, the threat of unemployment, lack of permanent employment to changes in economic conditions is unavoidable and represents the kind of society pay for the economic recovery. It is known that modern scientific and technological revolution - the computerization, the introduction of high technologies in the field of information, automation of various activities - is accompanied by a necessary reduction in employment, particularly in traditional trades (Conrad, 2005).
CHAPTER 2: LITERATURE REVIEW
Ihlanfeldt and David Sjoquist (1991) use the racial composition of residents in sub county areas as proxies for customer composition and find that the racial composition of an employment area affects the type of job held by black workers. This should also support the recognition of the principles and objectives of equity in employment by the general public. We have presented information sessions on racism and discrimination in order to facilitate the detection and removal of barriers in the workplace.
