Introduction

The concept of emergency nursing has increased since long. The nurses who take care of the patients who are in the critical phase of their illness are known as the emergency nurses. They are the ones that are important and that help the patients in recovering in the best possible manner and in the least possible time. It is important that these nurses realize their duties to make sure that they widen their scope and that they are able to cure more patients in less time. This paper will discuss the concept of emergency nursing and in relation to Intravenous Medications (IV) and the risks associated with it.

Intravenous medications are those that are injected directly in the veins of the patient. Injecting the medicine is the most common and the most effective way of giving this medication. This medication is given to the patient in order to speed up the recovery process. According to the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council Decision Making Framework, the nurses should make sure that they work in accordance with the codes and provide the patients with the best treatment. It should be made sure by the nurses that during emergency care, they do not take measures that are harmful for the patients and that they are harming the health of the patients. They should be able to make sure that the patients are treated in a manner that will help them recover quickly.

The code of ethics for APHRA, outline the conduct of the nurses. They should be able to follow them specially while utilizing the intravenous medications.
