ABSTRACT

This paper is an attempt to discuss the impact that domestic violence has on the children in the later stages of their lives. It discusses the psychological, social and mental impact that domestic violence has on the children in the later stages of their lives as well as the short term impacts that they have. The methodology that has been applied in order to carry out this research is qualitative and quantitative. The interviews were conducted as well as a survey was carried out in order to get the responses of the children who have been through domestic violence. The results show that domestic violence has a negative impact on the lives of the children during the later stages of their lives. . This study can be beneficial for governmental agencies and policy makers in order to modify the existing policies and systems related to domestic violence. The researcher has made an attempt to highlight the issues which are prevailed in the society in order to impede such acts which has their severe impact on the life of a child. The reader can get an overview of the concept of domestic violence, outcomes of exposure to domestic violence and normal child development being victimized.
