Introduction

DHL cargo is a German Logistic Company which provides international cargo services. It is one of the largest logistic companies of the largest logistic companies of the world. It is operating in all areas of the world. It is the market leader in the sea and air mail. The company was established in 1969. In early days company was used to deliver documents in Honolulu and San Francisco. In 1970s, company started to expand its operations in other parts of the world. The company got success in doing Intra expansion in United States. DHL also expanded their operations in those parts of the world where other FedEx companies were not offering their services. Those countries include Iran, Iraq, North Korea, Soviet Union and Eastern Bloc.

In 1998, major shares of DHL where acquired by Deutsche posts and majority ownership was achieved in 2001 and completely purchased DHL in 2002. Deutsche Post was able to absorb DHL express in its operations in an effective manner. DHL express was also spread to other divisions of Deutsche Post like business units and subsidiaries. History of DHL Cargo

DHL Cargo was started by Larry Hillblom. He was the students of University of California and was studying Law. He started its business on a small level as he did not have much finance to set up a large business. He started it operations in between Las Angeles and San Francisco. He was used to pick the packages for the last flight of the day and return on those packages from the first flight of the next day. He was used to do this five time a week.
