Research Design
Research Methodology is an essential part of any research. Research methodology is a systematic way in which data is collected so research question can be answered. In simple words, research methodology is a plan that takes researcher from setting up research questions till finding answers to them. The section of research methodology is hence an essential component of the research, without which the research will not be able to fulfill the purpose for which it is designed (Creswell, 2007, 98-100).
This dissertation will be a cross-sectional descriptive study. A cross-sectional descriptive study aims to provide the snapshot of the characteristics of a population by a method through which disease and exposure statuses are simultaneously measured in the population. The aims and objectives of the study will be explained to dentist's is Port Harcourt in one of the monthly meeting of the Nigerian Dental Association (Port Harcourt Chapter). This is a body of dentists from the private dental practices and those from the government hospitals including the teaching and general hospitals in Port Harcourt. Participants will be recruited is one of the monthly meeting of the Nigerian Dental Association (Port Harcourt Chapter). Subjects will be dentist's practicing either on permanent or locum basis. They will be equipped with the essential knowledge and practice that is required to fill in the questionnaire so that they may provide the researcher with adequate insights on the topic. They will be recruited purely on a voluntary basis.
This dissertation follows the method of primary research along with a review of the secondary data that is presented in the form of a descriptive literature review in the previous section. Hence, we can say that the dissertation is a mixed method of research that incorporates both primary and secondary data analysis so as to reach a comprehensive and reliable conclusion in the end (Gerrish, Lacey, 2006, 32-76).
