To be well read, seek knowledge and live a meaningful life has been my preference and a guiding principle of my educational efforts. I always wanted to become a dentist, and the graduation degree has given me confidence and motivation of dentistry as being an attractive career choice. I have observed the significant of the skills required to work in dental care. The job requires direct teamwork, excellent communication, and leadership. The passion should be the interaction between the dentist and patience in dealing with the complicated cases. From my experience and interest, it is obvious that dentistry is a gratifying profession (Peterson, 185). Dentistry involves dealing with people in a professional manner and keeping them calm when they are distressed. In my opinion, I am very good at this due to my abilities to empathize with people, my degree refined these skills and dentistry became my passion.
I became interested in studying dentistry because I always wanted to be involved in a profession where I can help people. My choice of studying dentistry over medicine was that a person keeps passing the [patient along a chain of other doctors, whereas a dentist can treat patients straight after diagnosis. Moreover, a dentist can create close and interactive relationships with the patient as compared to the general physicians.
Education
I was already inclined towards medical studies, and my inclination has remained towards biology and chemistry. These subjects created a passion to learn about medicine and apply his knowledge. I acquired graduation degree from Queen Mary, University of London. The principal subjects were Applied Dental material and Clinical Applications of Biomaterials. Both the studies give a comprehensive account of the biomaterial and applications of different body areas. The modules studied have covered diverse areas of Dentistry such as the nature and applications of materials in clinical Dentistry to anatomical areas, such as, facial muscles, various bone structures around the jaw and teeth development (Peterson, 186). Currently I am a full- time worker, however, interested in developing my knowledge of dentistry by reading articles and following the researches of the current changes in this field. I am hopeful that my passion for dentistry will help me progress to the career ladder quickly.
