Database Approach

Introduction

Computers and technology has influenced every field and profession on life since the time of their invention. Many private healthcare organizations have made great use of technologies in order to have a competitive edge over its competitors for example they utilize technology in order to maintain patients records, personal information and appointments etc. Certainly, technology plays an essential role in improving the quality of health care as it assists the clinicians in gaining better and updated information about the health problems and history of the patients and also provides information regarding the alternative treatments and tests for those problems.

While keeping in mind the requirements of the clients there are several it organization that design database systems (Velentgas et.al, 2008, pp. 1229)). Good Health will have to select among the different software packages available in the market, as these software are designed and can be modified according to the needs of the clients. As Good Health manages several clinics over the South East, database systems and packages will speed the process and will also help in increasing the efficiency of each clinic. This will also help in gaining competitive edge over the competitors. The use of database has revolutionized the private and public health care industry. Good Health can use database systems for example data security, data distillation, connectivity and decision support system.

Discussion

Database approach

Database approach will be very beneficial for Good Health PLC. Some of the important advantages are discussed further. Conceptual modeling of perceived reality with a data model (concepts), Rules of the conceptual schema validation (method for Standardization), Computer implementation: a Management System Database (DBMS), and Programming with data access specific language. Database contains the database itself.

Data Abstraction is another main feature of the database approach, conceptual representation of data is not related to the way data is stored, Independent data, programs access to data are written independently physical files storage. A change in the structure of the data does not invalidate the programs on these data. In contrast, the databases store data in simple tables, where each is defined to support a theme or specific area. This allows a simple definition and ease of use of the table accordingly. The tables have a structure that allows easily relate to each other, through the use of keys, or commons, enabling easy navigation and natural through them, as long as your design is correct (Goff .et.al, 2008, pp. 619).

The following figure shows what database architecture is and how it helps in increasing efficiency.

Database approach gives a lot of diversified options in order to mold the data according to the requirement of the storing authority. Multiple views of the data may facilitate Good Health to view data in different ways according to their facilitation such as several different views of the same data with several different types of ...
