'Criminology Is More than Just the Study of Why People Commit Crime'

Introduction

Criminology has a Latin root word, meaning view, accusation or crime. Criminology is the systematic study of crime and criminals. As two famous criminologists, Edwin Sutherland and Donald Cressey, said, criminology includes the processes of law, violate the laws, and react to breaking the law. This has very clear definition of a good debate and diversity in the field of criminology, there is a combined discipline (Clarke, 2004, 55). Criminology is a multidisciplinary science which bases its foundations in knowledge within the sociology, psychology and social anthropology, taking to this conceptual framework that defines the criminal law. Criminology examines the causes of crime and recommends remedies antisocial behaviour of man. Criminological research areas include the incidence and forms of crime and its causes and consequences. They also collect social reactions and government regulations on the crime (Clarke, 2004, 59).

Discussion

Criminology as a science has come a long way since its appearance closely dependent on its conformation to Criminal Law Current theory and practice as a system with its own development and as a useful indicator of the quality of social life, offering fruit as a containment research for the advancement of crime and social economic consequences. It represents a coherent and logical system of high importance in the implementation and use of preventive mechanisms for the study of the criminal matter. The emphasis in the current IFIC client community, the role that science plays in this re-evaluation and redefinition of social control both formal and informal places it as a science that is relevant at both the legal and social (Siegel 2003, p. 7).

The adoption of measures of a criminological is claimed by criminal theorists and practitioners of the scientific universe, in search of alternatives to custodial sentences and to reorient the social proposals sanctioned. Revolutions and diet changes are within the statutory crime statistics with a similar mixture of correspondence and records actual parasites.
