Although there is no one definition of corporal punishment, it is described as the use of physical force with the intention of causing a person pain, but not injury, for the purpose of either correction or control of behavior. The term corporal punishment can refer to the act of striking another's body, pulling or yanking a part of another's body, or throwing objects at another individual. However, the types of socially accepted corporal punishment, the prevalence of corporal punishment, and the population subjected to corporal punishment gets continually influenced by changing cultural norms and public attitudes.
