Introduction

This paper shows the comparison of two websites selling apparels and accessories for men and women. The comparison is based on their ways of marketing and how do they gather the audience. Banana republic.com sells clothes, jewelry and bags whereas Old navy.com sells clothes only. Each of the web pages is differentiated on the basis of a few factors in the paper.

Comparison Keyword-rich page title

The websites selling online are required to have a keyword full page. This makes it easier for customers to find out their required products and accessories (Wilson, 2011). All titles are to be hyperlinked. All the titles must be followed by a short description so before clicking the customer knows what the product is about.

Banana Republic- All titles on the page are followed by a short description about how the product is. It defines product structure, and the users are forced to search on the website.

Old Navy -The page does not include any titles or small descriptions with the hyperlinks. It is more cluttered with all the information but not easy to find.

User friendly search engine

The website has to be dynamic with a good web design according to the product sold by the business. Everything has to be easily accessible (Wilson, 2011). The website needs to have a chat box or a blog where a customer can visit and write his views. Sometimes, customers always want to ask something so this medium is very effective.

Banana Republic - The page has attractive links and titles for each product like Yes, for dresses and Warmth Style. This makes the user go to that link and check out what is being offered. The homepage itself shows a lot of products the website is offering, and upon clicking the links it has more to show.

Old Navy - The page does not have titles or attractive selling propositions. The user has to go inside every link and find out the desired product. On clicking the links one finds the products being offered. It has various sub links making the page a little confusing.

Part of a social media community

Best online businesses are those which also manage their pages on the social media communities like Facebook and Twitter. This helps the business in attracting masses of customers from different parts of the world (Wilson, 2011). The users are always searching of the businesses on these social media communities instead of searching for the websites. Therefore, all pages must have their pages on these communities.

Banana republic - The banana republic has its maintained pages on facebook and twitter. It has also designed applications for iPhone and Android phones. This makes it easier for the customer to buy using his phone instead of going through the hassle of opening up his computer and start shopping.
