The researches are normally undertaken through complex assessment and analysis processes. The strategic guidelines and analytical observations can only be performed through the observations and survey methods. Similarly, in order to gauge the conditions and contexts of a community, we need to observe and assess its variables and related factors.
This paper will provide an in depth study of the community assessment nd its asset mapping. It will undertake to explore and study the community of California, which is Long Beach. The analysis on the basis of its demographics, economics and political conditions will be conducted for the purpose of assessing it thoroughly. Moreover, an insight will be provided to identify the different diversity and living patterns in the community.
Community Assessment
For the purpose of formulating a comprehensive plan for future, it is essential to judge the position of our community. The process of community assessment refers to the procedures, combination of methods and sophisticated tools involved in the process of collecting the facts and information regarding the current happenings of the community. In the process of strategic planning, this is the first and vital step in judging the direction of the community by obtaining a snapshot of it.
The process of this assessment if further assisted by the community asset mapping strategy. This method refers to the whole systematic flow of identifying and evaluating the community for its financial, entrepreneurial, material, human and other assets and resources. This tolls combine with the process of community assessment and gives vital results to the surveyors and other related people.

The complex process of Community assessment begins with the purpose by building specific information regarding the environment, food access, policies, health, physical activities, health care resources and other factors. The general demographics which need to assess include the size of total populations, its education level, median income range and composition. All such information is gathered in order to the issues with important and top priority to be considered for the strategic planning process. In an effort to do so, the survey tools such as questionnaires and observation are used and community experts also conduct the interviews through focus groups to assist the planning process further. Afterwards, the data obtained is presented in a complete and concise manner and then evaluated (Schoch, 2008).
Data Collection Methods
We were a group of students who undertook this survey for the assessment of Long Beach, CA. Our sample size included a segment for 50 participants and our methodology for assessment included conducting interviews and getting the questionnaires filled up. The respondents were asked some short questions randomly which gave the correct results of the community assessment process.
