Childhood Obesity is a serious health problem or condition. It is defined or explained as a disorder in which child carry large amount of body fat as compared to his sex and height. A person or a child is considered as obese if his BMI (body mass index) which is weight in kilograms divided by the square of their height in meters is greater than or equal to 30.

During past three decades world authorities give priority to childhood obesity by considering the rate with which it is increased in the world especially in United States. It is believed that increasing number of disorders in the children is the major cause of increasing this disease in children. Lot of progress has been made to understand the genetics of obesity and physiology of hunger control in children. Obesity is also cause of some serious syndromes in children.
