Child Development

Introduction

Child development means the psychological and biological changes faced by children in their early life stages. These changes occur from birth primarily from age 3 to 7 years. At times, these developments are linked to factors or actions that are genetically related and occur during the parent's life. Hence such factors are part of a child development theory. These developmental changes are mostly strongly influenced by genetic factors and events during prenatal life. Child development occurs if he/ she are provided a healthy environment, where a child's social, cognition and learning skills can be enhanced. The children have the same physical, mental, emotional and social needs as an adult. Hence it is essential to focus on their needs, provide them with a good environment. For example have certain outdoor policies and mealtimes for children in order to help them in their development.

This is so as the outdoor learning area is a valuable learning environment. Every effort should be made to enable the children to have supervised access to the outdoor learning area every day. Mealtimes are essential as they give an opportunity to the child to learn and interact, which is very essential for their development. It is important that children should not be exposed to an anti biased environment.

Media is currently promoting and endorsing that child of future generation will be obese and indolent. In order to change the mindset certain steps are being taken. This includes placement on website and having advertisements that encourage adults to incorporate better lifestyle. This is important as it will have an impact towards the development process of a child as parents act as a role model. One can state this that child development process always starts from home and the environment with which the child is exposed to.
