Introduction

The most common threat of today's organization is the ongoing changes in the work environment regardless of their size, structure and nature. Change in today's work environment is fast and so should organization change too. Growth of technology and advancement in the establishment of the organization has led to the regular inclusion of change in the work environment. Change in the organization is normalize to shift the individual, teams and processes from the current state of working to the future desired state. Change in the organization is made with the acknowledgement of all the stakeholders and the organization members. In general, process of change in an organization is mounted for the purpose of improvement and betterment.

Change in the Healthcare Service

In the past 20years, the health care industry has undergone many dramatic changes which have affected both the workers and patients. Health care industry requires very secure and proper implication of change after insightful analysis. Analysis is important before the implementation of change is this sector because it not only involves and affects the workers but also the patients are more specifically. Evaluation and feedbacks need to be estimated in the early stages in the health care service to improve and make the process of change better and effective. One challenge to implement change in the health care industry is that consumers are not trained about the sensitivity of this sector, and they lack clinical knowledge. Changes in the staff roles, responsibilities and need are also regularized with the change in the health care organization.

Kurt Lewin - Change Theory

Kurt Lewin was born in Germany in 1890. Later in years he immigrated to the United States. Kurt Lewin is considered the father of social psychology. Lewin did many researches and studies on group dynamics, social psychology and group therapy (Wirth 2004, p.1).

Change Theory

According to Lewin, human condition can be improved by resolving the social conflicts may it be because of religion, culture, marital or industrial factors. Restructuring and better understanding of individual own perception was only the key solution to resolve the conflicts. The change processes in the physical systems are comprehended kin the Lewin's theory of change. It is one of the most influential works he has done for the betterment of the physical system. This model was presented in 1940 by Kurt Lewin to enhance the understanding of organization changes. The model was so effective that its application is effective even in today's world organization. The model has been established on three stages of process changes explained on a block of ice that are common in an organization. This model in the global world is also coined with the name of Unfreeze-change-Refreeze (Wirth 2004, p.1).
