Introduction

Implementation of a new policy is always difficult in any organization because the employees already working there are usually set in their ways. This becomes much more difficult when the policies enforce a ban or prohibition on anything. According to the scenario, the company's new boss wishes to implement a zero-tolerance policy in cases of harassment and any other inappropriate behavior from both the organization and the employees. She has ordered that it be 100% complied with the U.S. employment regulations. Following are the rules and regulations as dictated by the U.S employment regulations coupled with the actions which the organization might take on the breach of any of the following rules and regulations. All employees shall be expected to adhere to these policies without fail, otherwise there shall be severe consequences

Discussion

According to the US Supreme Court, the employers of any organization shall be held responsible for any event of sexual harassment occurring within their organization, if the employers do not take any and all means of reasonable care for its prevention and correction. It is mandatory that the employees of the organization be provided with a clear explanation of the codes of conduct which are prohibited in the organization on a periodical basis. All of the employees are assured that anyone making harassment complaints will be sheltered from any retaliation. It is the responsibility of the employer to safeguard the anonymity of the victim of harassment as much as possible. Every complaint shall be resolved with thorough, prompt and just investigation (UNISON , 2012).
