Introduction

The S. 227/H.R.2267 Act of Home Health Planning and Improvement, initiated by Senators Kent Conrad (D-ND) and Susan Collins (R-ME) in the Representatives and Senate Greg Walden (R-OR) and Allyson Schwartz (D-PA) in the House of Representatives, will permit advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) - clinical nurse specialists (CNSs), nurse practitioners (NPs), physician assistants (PAs), as well as certified nurse midwives (CNMs), - to order home health services within Medicare in harmony with state-law.
