History of Health Care Centre

SDM healthcare center is a healthcare services company that serves as a trauma and health center in South Main Street of Tooele City. Primarily, it functions as a triage center and collection point for patients in the surrounding locality. Patients requiring severe medical assistance are being stabilized at the facility and then transported to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center for tertiary care.

Industry Analysis

Health care and Trauma are the most common issues now days in America. They are the main reasons for the rising disability index as well as costing the lives of 140,000 Americans on an annual basis. Medical sciences have made tremendous advances since last 50 years, but they have lost the battle against the emergencies and traumas (Beth, 2001). They encounter small success rate in these issues. The reason behind this issue is;

The specialties of emergency treatment and trauma care are comparatively new;

There is the lack of immediate rehab provision for emergency cases in remote areas and

Estimated 30% of the death takes place within an hour or accident (either from internal bleeding or shock).

Within the span of last 10 years, the health care industry growth rate is approximately 7% per annum, whereas the largest per capita healthcare expenditure in the world was of the American economy. The reason behind the growth is;

Increasing population;

Increasing heath care demands;

Increasing Awareness and

Increasing aging populations,

The Health Care market has virtually expanded by 85% by 2008 with the total revenue of 1.9 Trillion Dollars. The primary target market and customer groups were the house hold of the cities whose spending on medical expense increased by 85% approximately.

Analysis for Symptoms

The hospital is located at the remote area of Tooele City. Since the population is low as compared to large cities, the number of expertise present there is also low. Due to this factor, it becomes difficult to retain good doctors and nurses at a secluded place. The population of Tooele City is low as compared to the nearby sites, but it has good prospect of awareness level as the education level of Tooele City is high. Only 5.5% of the population of Tooele City is involved in health care services in commutations, while the majority of them are in various business or governmental fields (Levit, 2003). Therefore, it becomes difficult for hiring professionals. Hence high cost is bared on financial sheets due to hiring through external sources and paying them extra.

There are various regulations and laws that had to be followed by hospitals and states at governmental level. According to these regulations hospital has followed complicated systems, which includes operating policies and procedures, paraphernalia, human resources, conformity with building codes, preservation of satisfactory account and environmental shield and seclusions.
