With the world shrinking and boundaries falling, globalization has made it easier for people to travel. Air traffic has increased significantly with the advances in globalization practices. However, with the increase in air travel, there has also risen the threat to the environment. With people demanding faster means of travel, airlines have largely ignored the consequences it would have on the environment. Carbon emissions are one such consequence that has dealt a severe blow to the global environment. Globalization has also led to the spreading of diseases that previously remained in one country. It has become easier for bacteria to travel for one place to the other due to the advances in transportation technology.
The more globalization takes effect the more it harms the global environment. Aircrafts and automobiles contribute to carbon emissions. Our demand for fossil fuels is rapidly depleting the earth of the natural resources. Consumption has also increased with the advent of globalization. The standard of life and basic necessities of life has changed drastically. What was once a luxury has become a necessity. Agriculture has also taken hits with the rise of globalization. With demand for food increasing with population, organizations and farmers have been forced to grow artificial crops in order to cater to the needs of the global society. This has led to a decline in the nutrition value of the crops and damaged health of consumers (Osland, 2003, pp. 137).

In international matters, the United States has had to redefine its foreign policy toward countries such as China, which is still is considered a threat to the economy, to allow the Chinese to ease the burden of debt on the American government. From Saudi Arabia, United States purchases the largest amount of crude oil. It considers the country an important ally even ...
