Abstract

There are many religions in the world. Each religion has its own importance. All the religions have its specific teaching that they give to its believers and followers. As the follower of other religion, most of the people usually have some misunderstanding about the religion of the others or they are totally unaware of the other big and important religions in the world. Also there are some traditions that remain unfamiliar unless and until we opt to know about them. This paper aims at discussing the fourth largest religion of the world that is Buddhism. Also this paper involves discussing the major and common misconceptions of the people about Buddhism religion.

Introduction

There are a number of religions in the world. The five largest religions are Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, and Hinduism. Each religion has its significance and importance for the people who are the followers of that religion. The history of the world has created the religions and has left its followers who are growing since then. Religion gives the people the specific guide lines so that they can lead their whole life according to their specified values in the religion. Religion helps the people to have the improved and enhanced sense of the world in which they are living in. Religion provides them the way and the teachings to lead their lives. Despite of the distinctive factors that make each religion separate and distinctive, each religion gives the teachings of humanity and love with the mankind. However each religion has its own holy beings to which its followers preach. Each religion is separately recognized because of its distinctive holy being and god to be worshipped. Since the world has been created, the wars are still going o till today and the reason behind these wars are the religion. Every religion wants the people to adopt its religion because every religion believes that its religion is the best religion in the world.

Discussion

Mostly people are unaware of other religions in the world. If they aware then they usually have misconceptions about the religion of others. There is much unfamiliarity about the religious trends of other religions. It is very common that people keep wrong concepts about other religions or they say negative about the religions because they are unlikely to accept the good aspects of the religion and they say negative about the religions except their own religion.

In this paper the religion of Buddhism is to be discussed. The importance of this religion and the misconceptions about this religion will be discussed below.
