Youth is frequently presented as a time of crisis or a period of stress and storm. While, in a different perspective youth culture is frequently something that is desired about, envied or sought out by many. This paper seeks to acquaint the readers with the international and Australian literature related to the study regarding the youth. The long prevailing perspectives, prime theoretical customs regarding youth culture and the numerous responses by the professionals, sociologists, policy makers and media persons are presented regarding the interests and needs of the youth. Furthermore, the definition of ethnicity is presented as a particular group of people that is different from the majority within an area and also a group of people having common culture, language, values and ancestry. Also, some light is thrown on the concept of youth culture globalization and it is established that it is the procedure that wears away the national boundaries, integrates national economies, culture and technologies. Evidences are provided regarding the fact that Media poses a strong influence on youth since the early times, when young people began watching television. Also, cultural background is one amongst the factors contributing to some circumstances, for instance, people belonging to different cultures respond to situations in a varying manner, exhibit varying attitudes, adapt to changes in a varying way and ultimately end up having caught in varying circumstances. It is also established that the popular youth culture revolves around the way youth expend their time, their behaviors, concerns, what is valuable to them, and the way they communicate and mingle around with their fellows in particular and with the community in general. Because the popular youth culture is the most powerful in the world, youth hold a great influence and power being the drivers of the societal culture.
