Introduction

Theory is helpful application and device that aid us to recognize and interpret the world round us. In criminology, they assist us to realize the workings of the criminal justice system and the actors in the system. Theories propose the way things are, not the way things should to be. They are not inherently good or bad; although, they can be utilized for good or bad purposes. A theory can trial to interpret crime for a large social unit or locality (macro), or it can try to interpret crime at the one-by-one or lesser unit grade (micro) because we are considering with human behavior, the social sciences will not ever be like the hard sciences. The assumption is that persons have the proficiency to make a reasonable alternative to either pursue the regulation, or to violate it. A system of penalties is essential to discourage persons from committing criminal acts. Committing criminal actions adds a certain allowance of delight to the individual. To counteract this delight, penalties should be supplied that convey with them sufficient agony to outweigh the delight obtained by committing a deviant or criminal act.
