All over the world business people face the necessity of learning spoken business language. “Most experienced business people would agree that first impression are important when meeting someone and this often happens in a social environment.” Socialization is the key to establish a good business relationship among the business associates. Therefore, it is always important for the business English learners to know the required language for better communication and aware of social the customs in order to represent themselves.
There are several topics under genre the spoken business English. The most discussed topics by the researchers are meetings, negotiating, problem solving, and relationship at work. They have used various methods in their research. The aim of this critical literature review is to analyse and evaluate the above topics of spoken business English and find out the pedagogic implications in their research. This is not very rare that the analysts have different point of views regarding to a topic. Each of them has pointed up the issues with strong arguments and proved in their research. Sometimes there are limitations in their research findings as well. All these approach and key findings will be discussed here.

In the book of Hewings, M and Nickerson.C (1999) there is a chapter called “Sales Negotiation: Bargaining through Tactical Summaries” written by Charles,M and Charles, D. According to these researchers negotiating is one of the most important topics in spoken business English. “When questioned about their need for oral skills, business people will rank negotiating skills high on their list of priorities (e.g. Holden, 1983)”.bur there are some questions about the appropriate skills of negotiation.
In the beginning the researchers criticized about the teaching methods of negotiating and the process of bargaining in the teachers designed lessons. From their point of view, This paper, however, argues that bargaining is a far more subtle activity than the full blooded exchanges practised in many Business English courses,and,further,that bargaining is not simply a matter of a final climactic stage as it is sometimes thought to be- a stage which business English courses often confine themselves to as though
this, and very little of what may have gone before, is the whole of negotiation.
They says bargaining is a part of negotiating and they have used some examples which has been taken from real life meetings. Charles,M and Charles, D argues that there are some techniques that bargaining follows at the time of expanding conversation. The first part starts with a question of the reseatchers“Bargaining: a separate stage or a pervasive mode in the conduct of negotiations?” Here, they have mentioned the suggestions of Robin and Brown (1975:2) about the method of bargaining “the process whereby two or more parties attempt to settle what each shall give and take or perform and receive in a transaction between them.” They say every party wants to earn profit which creates conflicts between them.
