Basic Premise of the Article

The article is based on the importance of the treatment and early childhood education that children must be treated with respect and value. Authors have discussed the story of three young children who wanted to be helpful and accept responsibility. In addition to that, they have also discussed the story of three professionals who identified the child and responded supportively (Jalongo et al. 2010).

The Subjects of the Research

The development and, in general, human life unfold through successive stages that have very distinct characteristics. Each of them gradually merges into the next stage. However, there is no unanimous agreement to determine how many and what are these stages. You also can not say exactly when it starts and ends when each stage in the development as influenced by different individual, social and cultural rights (Rosebrook et al. 2007). Therefore, it is said that every human being has its own pace of development.

Children can be raised from things like the biological, psychodynamic, as learning, cognitive development and response from the social and cultural context and even anthropological (Jalongo et al. 2010). In trying to take into account these aspects, it can be said that early childhood is a period between 0 and 5 years if the foundation is neurobiological or 0 to 12 years if it is in terms of development or until it is in the ability to procreate as anthropology and some human cultures. Further, it can be said that early human life is important and essential in the development; hence the growth depends on evolution and further development (Loreman 2009).

The Method Used To Examine the Hypothesis

The authors of this article (Jalango et al.) have used three young children and three professionals to study the early childhood development. The six people have been studied and analyzed thoroughly; however, there is no statistical analysis that has been used in the article to analyze the results or the behavior of these people. It is because the authors have studied the behavior of these people rather than merely collecting and analyzing data that may result in some error.

Results

Jalango et al. have analyzed that adults view children as a means to an end; they value childhood only in respect to their hope for later accomplishments. However, they do not remember the fact that being a child is more valuable than anything else. Also, a childhood is more than a passing phase between infancy and adulthood. Authors have argued that a child must be treated and respected as a child, and he or she should be handled with care.
