Abstract

Biopsychology delivers precisely what you should know about the brain to understand the basic psychological processes. Indeed, when studying cognition all mental processes are involved the memory, reasoning and language. The research method applied by the researcher in this study is the secondary research involving the undertaking of study on a qualitative basis. It is fundamental to understand the functioning of the anatomical organ that is the basis: our brain. It is not necessary as long to become a neuroscientist. Biopsychology is the scientific study of the biology of behavior, some refer to this field as biopsychology, behavioral biology or neuroscience. Psychology is the scientific study of behavior, the scientific study of all overt activities of the organism, as well as internal processes such as learning, memory, motivation, perception and emotion. In 1949, played a key role in its development, developed the first comprehensive theory of how such complex psychological phenomena such as perceptions, emotions, thoughts and memory can be produced by brain activity. Hebb was based on experiments with laboratory animals and humans, with clinical and logical arguments developed from their own observations of life. In this article review we will be discussing about neurophysiological mechanisms.

Introduction

The biopsychology or psychobiology is a branch of psychology . It deals with relationships between biological (neural, hormonal, biochemical) processes or mechanisms in the body and behavior. The nervous system is one that is responsible for transmitting the necessary impetus for each of our organs perform the activities necessary for daily functioning. This is divided into the central nervous system comprises the brain and spinal cord and peripheral nervous system that includes all the nerves of the body, in both the basic cell is the neuron of which there are a number of several million the body (Knopman, 2011).

Background of the Study

The origins of neuropsychology lie in the 2nd Half of the 19th Century, partly in the developing anatomical, physiological and neurological brain research and the other in the development of experimental psychology . The psychophysics and physiological psychology , especially by Hermann Helmholtz , Gustav Fechner and Wilhelm Wundt are the forerunners of modern neuropsychology. At a first interdisciplinary cooperation of physicians, educators and psychologists occurred in the first world war , when many young men with brain injury with the help of former psychic techniques should be rehabilitated. The brain-damage created during the war hospitals were continued after 1918 without any further involvement of educators and psychologists. After Germany had virtually no collaboration between neuroscience and psychology to the 80s of the 20th Century. With the expulsion of Jewish scientists in the Third Reich with the loss were wide ranges of experimental psychology, the chances for a revival of neuropsychology has been lost. The development of clinical neuropsychology was after the Second World War promoted, particularly in Britain and the United States in facilities and research programs for war veterans. Since 1950, studied especially in continental Europe neurologists and psychiatrists, the brain injured managed to establish contacts with neuropsychologists from ...
