ABSTRACT
This study tends to decipher the perceptions of the students in relation to the apprenticeship initiatives in context to United Kingdom. The research intends to inculcate a phenomenological research approach in order to yield the suitable understanding of the subject. Moreover, this research tends to gauge the grounds based on which the students can gain an effective and efficient knowledge of the on ground reality. Plus, the researcher also intends to analyze whether the current curriculum rendering to hospitality students can be cultivated into successful managers. This research will also pave the way for future researches to be conducted within the similar context.

CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION
This chapter of the research tends to develop an understanding and identify the reason for conducting a research onto the identified topic. However, in the context of this paper this chapter would inculcate the notions related to apprenticeship initiative in the United Kingdom's Hospitality Industry. In order to understand the dynamics of the subject, this chapter would also inject an understanding regarding the significance of apprenticeship initiatives in order to prepare the next generation (Barron & Anastasiadou, 2007). The nomenclature of this chapter tends to stand on the bricks of background of the research, aims of the research, research question, and structure of the dissertation and limitations of the study.
Background
The concept of apprenticeship dates from ancient history and continues through the middle ages, where it enhanced the advancement of the population, to the colonization. However, in this regard both unregistered and registered apprenticeships are designed to upgrade the occupational and on ground skills of the individual along with enhancing the academic nomenclature of the student. In the context of this paper apprenticeship tends to gain importance since hospitality industry is ranked among the industry which tends to be ever evolving. Moreover, the apprenticeship programs or initiatives are also significant in the context of hospitality Industry, as it deals with people from different backgrounds, ethnicities and mindsets. Therefore, preparing the students and providing beforehand training will help them decipher the modus operandi of the research.
Many of the fundamental activities of apprenticeship have come from individuals who migrated to the United Kingdom from the European countries, primarily those immigrants from Germany, and other Northern European countries. Northern Europe, like the United States, was affected by the recession of the early 1990s, which introduced the outsourcing of jobs to less costly areas and, with the forecasted reduction in local employment, industry dramatically reduced the number of apprenticeship opportunities(Canning & Lang, 2004).
