The global debate on terrorism took the shape it has today since the US had an attack on the 11 September 2001. It was this attack that evoked the world to the power of a terrorist force operative in the world. This terrorism has been assumed to be Islamic. The war on terrorism by the US had implications for Yugoslav countries. The author examines this impact and the course of action towards terrorism is affected by media. The media have played a pivotal role in defining the ideologies for the larger majority. It takes Siberia and Croatia as a case in point. The media in the two countries, that is, Croatia and Siberia, have used this Islamic notion of terrorism to defend and justify their war in Yugoslav against the Muslims. Through this, they try to prove that they too are a part of the global community fighting against terrorism.

I will use the author's opinion to discuss the role of media in disseminating the notion that the terrorists and their underlying activities are associated with Islam alone, and that the war against terrorism is essentially a war against the extremist Muslims. In addition, the way the two countries are manipulating this media ideology will also be discussed.

In his article, the author Ferrer, studies the Executive Order 13224. This is by far one of the most important initiatives taken by the US government. The author studies the impact of this order on corporations; in particular, he examines its effects on the corporation in the countries that claim to wage a war against terrorism and have terrorist organizations designated for the purpose. He finds that the order itself is very difficult to implement. The purpose of the order was to curtail the terrorist funding. This, however, did not materialize as the order was made in haste. The language that has been used in the order is very difficult and confusing. There is a dire need to change the order of the language of the order in order to make it more comprehensible. It discusses the prosecution case of Chiquita who made payments for the extortion purpose to Autodefensas Unidas Campesinas.

This article is important to authenticate the various claims I will be making in my research paper. In addition, the case of Chiquita has important implications for the US policies pertaining to its war against terrorism as well as the corporations that want to invest in countries that are with US in its war against terrorism in that ...
