CHAPTER 3: METHODOLOGY
Section 1: Methodology
In the literature review we had covered the concept of performance appraisal in-depth. Limited studies; however, pertain to impact of performance appraisal on the profitability of a bank. The purpose of this mixed method exploratory study is to make an analysis of the performance appraisal system of State Bank of India.
Chapter 3 provides a detailed outline of the research design of the proposed study. This chapter also expands on the elements of the research design, in particular, the research approach of the proposed study. In considering methodology for the proposed study, the researcher considered three approaches. This chapter will expand on these three approaches, including the qualitative approach, quantitative approach, and mixed methods approach.
In order to develop practices and policies that drive desirable behaviour, it is necessary to understand the common experiences of those that have experienced a phenomenon and the assumptions that they hold (Yin 2008, 36).
