Amazon.com is one of the largest online retailers. Mr. Jeff Bezos, founder of this organization, started in 1994 and was actually launched for customers in 1995. This organization was at first used as a bookstore, later accruing everything from automobiles to items such as clothing and electronics. Amazon.com's global headquarter is located in Beacon Hill, Seattle. They have software and warehouses throughout United States and also other parts of the world.

Mission Statement

They do not have a Mission Statement; however they do have a vision statement. Our vision is to be earth's most customer centric company; to build a place where people can come to find and discover anything they might want to buy online (news.cnet.com).

SWOT Analysis

Strengths

Amazon.com has become a very Profitable Organization throughout the year since they were first founded. This e-retailer has survived financial crisis in the early stages of a business. Just like any other business they had a large loss due to start up, including delivery charges. The founder and his partners were very devoted to making this company work and have beaten all odds. Throughout all these years they have overcame and conquered the falls and also the high points in the economy for all online retailers. Another strength that has kept Amazon.com in a successful state is the Global Brand (news.zdnet.co.uk).

This organization was established as one of the first dotcoms, gaining millions of customers. This gave customers the ability to stay in the comfort of their own home and shop instead of going and waiting in long lines. In years to follow Amazon.com relieved that if they were to compete and win they would have to extend the business to countries all over the world. Included, in this they extended their lines of product to compete with the later e-retailers (topics.nytimes.com).

Amazon.com is consistently thriving on Building Customer Relations. The survival and expansion of all business (new and old) is fatal, so they have to continuously gain customers. This organization is always looking for a new way or easier way to keep business and their customers happy.
