This paper focus on the software theft that information technology industry is experiencing and solution has been discussed. The solution which has been suggested is the system call sequence that has been further divided into the System Call Short Sequence Birthmark (SCSSB) and Input Dependant System Call Subsequence Birthmark (IDSCSB) which deals with software Birthmarks in order to meet software theft protection requirements.

Introduction
Information Technology has given many benefits to our society. Variety of software programs has been created by the information Technology experts, which are distributed across the globe. It provides a new method of exchanging information, business transactions, changed the nature of financial and other service provider sectors and offers proficient means of using the institutional and human abilities of countries in private, as well as public sectors. Along with benefits, information technology has created new social problems that comprise of software theft, computer crimes, unreliability, hacking, privacy invasions and virus creation. These problems have become dilemmas for business and profession. This is usually the software theft cases or privacy case. This case is basically associated with the privacy which is an extensive occurrence and a contemporary version related to the problem of age-old intellectual property theft.

Software theft refers to the usage of someone else code, partially or entirely into someone else program by way, of infringe the original license terms. As the software industry rapidly growing and the rupture of open foundation of the projects, software theft has become a serious problem for the IT companies' honesty towards the software companies and open source communities. During 1950s, the software was free and problem of theft never addressed by anyone. However, even when hardware vendors' unbundled software, theft was considered as an issue but not a serious theft. In this era, everything has been changed significantly. Production of software has been increased, and they have been now in mass for mass micro market places, no matter whether it is licensed or cheaply sold, quantity of sales is more than the unit price (Nagra & Thomborson, Pp. 208).
Illegal use of Software- Pirated Softwares
The organization Business Software Alliance released the results of a detailed study showing that 47% of PC users around the world are acquiring software illegally, resulting in a shortfall of $ 59 billion US in the global economy. The research was conducted using a sample of 15,000 PC users in 32 countries. This included 400 to 500 person or online interviews of the country. The study shows that the vast majority of computer users in the developing world regularly acquire software through illegal means, by purchasing a single license for a program that will later be installed on multiple devices, for example (Tamada, Pp. 2148).
