Abstract

This study purely focuses on the life of Pope Martin V. This study also presents the information regarding the church in the hospital of Santa Maria Nuova. In the starting, this study briefly describes the procession and then presents its historical context, namely the Great Schism and the Council of Constance. Next, it discusses the procession and how the Pope, the Signoria of Florence, and the hospital of Santa Maria Nuova all had a vested interest in this spectacle.
