Nursing is considered as the noble profession in the health care sector. Nurse staff is responsible to focus on the care of people, families, individuals, and communities for the delivery of quality health care. There are two appropriate education pathways to be a part of nursing profession. An individual can become a nurse by getting associate degree in nursing, and it is considered as the first educational pathway. A person can also become a nurse by completing a bachelor's degree in nursing. There are vast different between both degrees. The differences are regarding education and technical skills. Associate Degree in Nursing

The ADN program was launched because of the severe shortage of nurses during the postwar years. ADN program is usually around 2 years program that is offered by technical schools, nursing schools, and community colleges. According to various different studies, the ADN degree is useful in the preparation of nurses that are based upon the technical proficiency and nursing theory. There are a number of advantages of this program that include a registered degree of nursing and enough potential to deliver ideal health care. However, there are various disadvantages of this program that include low time period of study, average scope of practice, and less competencies than bachelors level degree. These advantages and disadvantages have enough potential to make a direct impact over the professionals (Taylor, 2012).
