The school that is selected to out this assignment pertaining to Curriculum Analysis is Marshfield High, which is the only school that falls under the Marshfield Unified School District of Marshfield in the state of Wisconsin (WI). The curriculum of this school appears as strong in terms of the education it is providing to its students depicting sturdy alignment with the philosophies on which the school was founded and the policies derived from it. The manifestation of this could be found in the indicators that determine the academic credibility of any institute, or in this case high school. As per 2013 academic indicators, Marshfield High has been awarded national rank of 614, whereas in the state of Wisconsin it is ranked as the 3rd best high school in terms of the education it provides to its high school students.

Focusing on the curriculum, high schools operating in the state of Wisconsin primarily assess their students on the mathematics, science, reading, writing, social studies and language arts, where the assessment is facilitated through the deployment of Wisconsin Knowledge and Concepts Examinations. Identifying the platform on which the curriculum is based; that is imperative to be the school philosophy and the policy, the curriculum strategy followed by Marshfield High is seen as meeting the expectations and standards that are required of any curriculum to follow (Gilleard and Gilleard, 2002, pp. 193). Looking over the mission and vision statement of the Curriculum Department of the school, student achievement is identified as the core element that is driving the preparation and determination of the courses that will comprise the curriculum. Infrastructure along with the material and practices that comes with research based evidence is used by the department to ensure that the department is working as per its very foundation, on the basis of which the school and subsequently Curriculum Department was established (Bassey, 1998, pp. 101).

Determining whether the mission and vision and the consequent practices that define the operations and tasks of Curriculum Department are aligned with the overall mission and vision statement of the Marshfield High School, it was found that it is related to a significant extent in that the mission statement of the school dictates the dedication to student achievement and their excellence in every domain. Mission and vision statement of any organization; Marshfield High School in this case, are the prime form of policies, policies in blue print, as it predominantly reflects on the philosophy of that particular entity which is the key towards the development of policies.

Marshfield is focused not only on academic development but it also is involved in the personal and social development of its students.
