How did your decision compare to the board's decision? Why did you make the decision you did? What affect did organizational infrastructure and culture have on your decision?

Magnolia Therapeutic Solutions have an autocratic style of decision making where all the decisions are taken by Mary as she is posted on a very high rank. My decision would differ from the board's decision because granting more and more money to cover a loss is not a solution. It is important for the organization to delegate authorities to different people working in the organization so that everyone contributes towards the achievement of the organizational goals. My decision is not to provide extra money for covering up the damage instead cost effective measures need to be made so that damages are covered according to the budgeted amounts. Before making any decision I would involve the management and the people from finance department so that they can help in providing the amount of resources or funds organization has, where are the funds invested and what would be the cost of covering the damages. So that important damages could be made first and later cover the damages according to the budgets allocated.

Organizational structure and culture of the organization has a major effect on the decision making. Therefore for non-profit organization it is important that delegation of authority should be transferred from top to bottom so that every individual can play its role in achieving the goals of the organization. There are different centers like profit, cost, expenses and etc. that provide these reports and estimates so that funds can be allocated properly and according to the budgets. Thus collective decision making is more beneficial as compared to an individual's decision; as more brains are better than one.
