The narrator, chief teller of the story is a growing boy in the town of Mrs. Grimes lived. Although he did not know that lady personally but deeply describes her life's fact till her death. He observes different information that he was getting from his surroundings as well as telling some experiences as a direct source, especially at the time of discovering the body of woman in woods. It should be observed that Mrs. Grimes stays silent in the entire story and we constantly awake with the voice of narrator that is contiguous, colloquial and conversational. The argument raises that why Mrs. Grimes took help of the narrator for explaining her story? If we emphasize over his narrative style, he constantly present his own references and the role of his own memory. In the end of the story, we find our self in a crucial state.
