Summary

This paper is an effort made in order to devise a sociological response of the experiences of youth at the RMYC. The sub topic of this paper is experiences of young offenders in the YCJS, and this is going to be done in this paper by using “It depends who is working” as an important foundation for the discussion being made. Here this report has looked on the race, class and gender and other related aspects for young offenders in the YCJS. An intersectional analysis is conducted here in this particular analysis where race, class, gender and ethnicity, are not being treated as fixed or static elements. The identified approaches for reducing he current descrmination found are like; doing conversations and getting idea about positive things to be done, relevancy of experience among the staff members, pevidence of practicality in approaches, special assignments of staff members and so on. After getting an ample understanding of the current descriminations in the area of concern, this paper has also drawn some recommendations.there is a need of training with intervals identified, description with respect to different cultures must be provided. There must also be provision of proper eduction to these young offenders for making them understand their self worth and improving their motivational levels.

Introduction

This paper is basically an effort made in order to devise a sociological response of the experiences of youth at the RMYC. Experiences of young offenders in the YCJS (youth criminal justice system) are the core focus of his paper. This is done by making “It depends who is working” as an important foundation of discussion. Here this report will look on the race, class and gender and other related aspects for young offenders in the YCJS. This will be done by conducting an intersectional analysis, this particular analysis do not treat race, class, gender and ethnicity, as a fixed or static element. This analysis not even ignores diversity existent within the groups. Intersectional perspective is the one which articulates relationships among various different aspects of social identity of an individual and interactions with various different systems of the coercion (oppression).

Coming back to “It depends who is working” it start with the RMYC which was established in 2009 with an intension of looking on the conflicts of the young people with law. This facility holds the youth by making use of efforts like rehabilitation and reintegration, these are the youth offenders which are held accountable for their offenses and are almost unaware of their potentials.
