Abstract

In this research paper, we will discuss how World War II reflected on America's mounting influences in the world. We will also discuss how the war influenced progress within the United States and what changes it brought along with it. The World War II was a serious war that occurred in about fifty countries around the world. It had serious impacts on the economies of the world but the least impact was on the economy of the United States of America as it tried its level best to remain less involved in the war.

Introduction

World War II was the most challenging war that would have ever been seen by humankind. Numerous people were killed, properties were damaged, people were affected and it brought along changes in almost every country of the world. The number of people who were killed, injured, or were missing amidst September 1939 and September 1945 could never be calculated with precision, but it is anticipated that above 55 million people were killed.

There were above fifty countries, which were a part of the war, and the entire world could truly experience its effects. The war officially commenced on September 1, 1939, when Germany hit Poland. Germany then took over six countries in just a period of three months. Furthermore, Japan's plans for development in the Far East ended up in an attack on the Pearl Harbor in December 1941, which made the United States part of the war as well. Hence, by the beginning of 1942, all the big countries of the globe were occupied in the most critical war in the history.

World War II Reflected On America's Growing Influences In The World

When in the year 1939, the war commenced in Europe, people in United States of America did not know if their countries wanted to participate in the war or stay out of it. It was more of a nightmare than a war. The Americans wanted the Allies to win over, but they did not even want United States to enter into war. The isolationists were of the point of view who did not want the country to enter into war. While the interventionists, wanted that the United States to support the Allies. Canada then suddenly declared its war on Germany, while the United States moved its policy from impartiality to vigilance. It expanded its armed forces, constructed plants of defense, and provided the Allies with aid that would get short in war.

At this time, President Franklin D. Roosevelt called over the United States to serve as the great armory of democracy that would provide materials of war to the Allies via sale, rent, or mortgage. Hence, the U.S. provided about more than $50 billion worth of material for war to the Allies. Factories that were operating in the United States transformed from civilian to war fabrication factories, which has a remarkable speed.
