Workshop Summary

Career management has become extremely significant for everyone who enters his professional life after completion of studies. Recently, I have had the privileged to attend a career management workshop, which was specifically designed for people in general staff and self starters who intend to play an active role in development and planning of their career. The main objective of this workshop was to reveal the concept of making career decision. The workshop was not designed on the traditional classroom structure; instead the creator has designed the workshop in an interactive manner. The interactivity is the reason I have observed everyone during workshop actively participating. The necessary for the formulation of interactive session was also derived from the objective of the workshop, which is to empower the attendees to make their career decisions. However, it is worth to be mentioned here that this training session does not provide orientation of some basic career management skills like CV or resume writing and the skills of an interview.

Practical Application

With multitude of practical application available for the workshop, I have formulated few among them so that better understanding of regarding the practical application can be demonstrated. The practical application of the workshop includes: career decision making, defining career goals, identification of present skills and skills required to meet the career goals, and learning the techniques for effective management of career.

The practical application of career decision making may be considered skeptical for many as there is no instant results of the impact of this phenomenon. However, when a person decides what path he or she shall choose for the career, will determine how their future will be. I was also bewildered regarding the practical application of this factor; however after attending the workshop it has become clear to me, that every decision a person take today will impact his or her rest of the life. Secondly, the definition of goal is the important part, which will help setting priorities what needs to be achieved now and what can be left for the future.

Personal Impact

The examination of the personal impact of the workshop has been quite impressive. First of all, my level of confidence boosted up and now I am completely ready to set where I wish to be in next 3, 5, 10 and 20 years. The foreseeable future is the main source of motivation and when I set my own future goals I become determined to excel in the field. This one workshop has positively affected my career choice and reduces all the confounding elements in my mind regarding my future. After attending the workshop, it feels like a ray of hope has been found in a dark room. I am now able to determine the skills I shall be requiring for the future, so that I can remain competitive to the business trends in my future.
