Introduction:

I am the head of Distribution Channels, the section which responsible of expanding the bank network by opening new branches and installing new ATMs. So I have selected the ATM cash team as workplace issue. This paper going to discuss the motivation at my organization, The aim is to motivate the custodians team who responsible of replenishing cash into all the 52 offsite ATMs in Oman capital (Muscat) at my workplace (Bank Dhofar), at the beginning I will give brief introduction about my company then I will highlight the issue (custodians are not performing as expected from management and instead that keep grumble and request transfer to another departments) , then will choose and describe three motivation theories Vroom expectancy, Adams' equity and Herzberg two factors to apply in this case. After that will analyze the problem according to the findings in purpose of sorting out the problem, finally will provide some recommendations to conclude this assignment.

Organization Back Ground

I am working at one of biggest bank in Oman (Bank Dhofar) which established in 1990. Today my bank has 54 branches and 150 ATMs. The main objective of the bank is to satisfy the customers by providing them the best services and high quality products. Although the competition in banking field is very high in Oman but my bank has awarded in 2010 the best bank in Oman from Oman Euromoney and also top performing company by Alam Aliktissa Walama , and ranked as No.1 bank in Oman by Business today and Oman Economic .

To continuing of business development and achieving the targeting goal my bank must look to entire bank services and ensure satisfying customers by all means. With no doubts Automated tellers Machines (ATMs) is one of the important services and facility which provide by any bank.

The competition in this area by expanding ATMs at every where customers required and by keeping those ATMs live within 24 hours in a day * 7 days.

The Problem faced at my workplace: ATMs Custodians

Our bank has 150 ATMs , 54 of them are attached on branches and the rest are offsite . Branches are responsible about the offsite ATMs outside the capital according to the region wise, and there is special team for capital ATMs.

In the capital (Muscat) there are 52 offsite ATMs , those ATMs are under the responsibilities of 8 custodians who divided into 4 groups , each group has 2 person who are responsible to handle 13 ATMs .

Each team will start the working day by withdrawing cash from head office branch to fulfill and replenish the 13 ATMs which are under their responsibilities, the locations of those 13 ATMs are in different areas , of course it will take long time from the custodians to complete all together within the working hours in a day, and there will be big issue for them if any one of those ATMs has some technical issue as ...
