The Wonderlic test is an American IQ test. This test consists of 50 questions whose answers are available for a total of 12 minutes. This corresponds to 20 points achieved in this test an IQ of about 100. This test is among other things by the clubs of the National Football League applied to the intelligence of the Entry Draft to test the available players. This is based on the assumption that a smart player can capture the complex moves of his team better.
It is a short survey that measures cognitive ability and interpretation of the individual, particularly industrial business needs and industry. It consists of selecting values ??differ more sharply employees below senior models in different types of jobs. The Wonderlic is composed of 4 subtests: vocabulary, arithmetic reasoning space. It is a conventional measurement selection field staff for cognitive abilities based on this test (Wonderlic, 1998)
The exam was created in 1936 and tests the "intelligence" through questions in math, logic and vocabulary (in case the English language). The end result is the number of hits of the test which consists of 50 questions and multiple choices that must be made within 12 minutes. A 20 rating would be a result on average. Test scores promoted during the Combine are confidential but came to light this week the results of the proof of LSU cornerback Morris Claiborne. The athlete shot just 4 issues, the worst result among all athletes who have passed the test (Mark, Paul, Joan , John & Huff, 2010)
There is no relationship between the results of the Wonderlic and future performance of the player in the NFL. The test score does not mean that the athlete will have a career good or bad, and not even a quarterback will have a high or low rating. The test results should be seen as a component of a whole process of player evaluation. As a team should not only evaluate the athlete for a 40-yard dash, note the Wonderlic cannot be the only reason to choose the franchise or not certain player. A low note as Claiborne is a warning sign, but other aspects should also be taken into account.
The truth is that in a draft is that no franchise has full assurance that you are making the right choice. The fact that the player has obtained a university career success does not guarantee that will succeed in professional level. Knowing this, teams rely on (besides the Wonderlic) interviews with the players, contact your technical college to learn about the personality, ability to learn the schemes of attack or defense, and of course, analyze the performance of the squad. A choice of first round can change the course of a franchise and the teams do their best to reduce the margin of error, a wrong choice. But there is still a chance (Huff, 2006)
To prove that the result of the Wonderlic is not a career, look ...
