Are women better off today than they were fifty years ago?

This is an important question in determining the position of women at present and in the past. The position of women is certainly better today which they were fifty years ago but it is has a specific dimension. Women have progressed in the field of education and are have leading position in different careers such as Law, Science & Technology, Management Sciences, Audit, Sports, Armed Forces, Politics and Social Work. Though, the women have also faced some problems in their traditional role as wife, mother and daughter-in-law. There are many famous female personalities in the world who have excelled in their field such as Lady Diana, Benazir Bhutto, Margaret Thatcher, Indira Gandhi, Steffi Graff, Lata Mangeshkar, Noor Jehan, Hilary Clinton, Julia Roberts etc. They all had major contributions to their respective work and gained a lot of fame in the world. There are diverse views on this question but it in terms of having intellectual knowledge and skills, the women are better off today (Aronson, 922).

Did the feminist movement liberate or emasculate men?

The question is related to the impact of feminist movement on the men. The feminist movement has liberated men and they also try to fight for their position at different instances. Some of the men have voiced support for the feminist men in order to raise the importance of their role in the society as well. In many societies, the dominance of males is there and there are not many opportunities for the females in the outside world. Though, in most of the developed countries, the opportunities for the females are higher and do not face much difficulty in the outside world.
