Introduction

British women were conscripted to the conflict effort for the first time in 1941.Women's parts of the British forces were rapidly reinstated. Women were furthermore conscripted to citizen conflict work in manufacturers, on the land and in municipal protection - though they were seldom paid the identical salary as men.

Civilians were aimed at throughout this conflict which made the dwelling front an unsafe as well as tough location to be. Women unexciting the blame of feeding, apparel and holding their families together.
