Introduction

The women in Islam and the rights of women in Islam have been greatly misunderstood in world to some extent due to the knowledge about what Quran says' about women and partly because of the bad treatment of Muslim men with their women. The primary source to know about women's dignity in Islam is Quran and it is the standard (Jawad, 1998). Therefore, Muslims should be judged according to Quran, if they do or do not respect the women's position in Islam. Quran has provided laws and standards that give women dignity, rights, and importance spiritually, socially, politically, and economically (State University of New York Press, 2004). While talking about women's rights in Islam Quran says women are given equality with men and not uniformity.

Marriage and Property Rights of Women

The Islam grants women their property right before and after marriage. The equal rights of nationality are provided to women in an Islam state, based on Qurans' interpretations for acquiring, hanging, and retaining their nationality. The women denying or giving up her rights of property and nationality after marriage is an illegal act. According to the Islamic Shari'a the men have rights over money they earn and women have rights over what their husbands earn.

(Qur'an: 4:32).

Islam assures the financial security of women before and after marriage and at every stage of life through his male guardian. The life of women as a daughter is supported by her father, as a wife by her husband, and in the role of mother she is supported by her sons. Quran guarantees the women's portion from assets left by their parent as the men have their rights (Qur'an 4:7).

Amongst all laws and religions Islam provides the greatest financial security to women after marriage as martial gifts at the time of marriage called 'Mahr', future property rights, income and presents.

The women don't need to spend on the property after marriage, its there inherent right from Islam that their husbands have to provide

The Quran also says that the husbands should give suitable gifts to their wives after divorce; it is men's duty if they are righteous (Qur'an 2:241).

The marriage for women in Islam is to provide a sense of security, reliability, and trust in her life, in terms of her, social, physical, and financial needs and protection.

The Qurans stresses on the safeguards of women's rights by their husbands by respecting and fulfilling their rights as their provided by the God (Zafrullah,1988, p.8).

The Quran encourage Muslim men to marry widows and offend women and gives them equal rights as other women

The Quran clearly mentions it that marriage is stressed for giving both men and women the mental and spiritual harmony.
